“LEVITATE LEVITATE LEVITATE came to be out of processing the viral and traumatic nature of black death in the media shared far and wide on social media networks. Our imagination needed to escape the imagery of a continuous barrage of often-unarmed Black deaths streaming on social media. A dream came - black kids shimmering in gold, floating over the perils of the world. Exploring the West End of Atlanta as a sci-fi landscape, we dared to LEVITATE.” - Ebony Blanding

THE FINAL BOW (DOCUMENTARY)
The Atlanta Taekwondo Academy has been a staple in the East Point community of Atlanta, Georgia for the past 23 years. The Final Bow is a cinematic testament to the meaningful work of the Atlanta Taekwondo Academy and its owner, GrandMaster Thomas, that gives an alternative lens on the impact of COVID-19 on locally black owned small businesses. The film was funded by the Southern Documentary Fund.
The documentary was screened at the Eyedrum Gallery in a solo exhibition from 1/7/2023 - 2/5/2023. Installation was made possible by the Nexus Fund.
