TALK TO PLANTS

 

Short experimental film about a pariah living among plants who begins to communicate with greenery. Independently produced film (An Ebony Supreme Film) originally exhibited at Moca GA 2016 WonderRoot Fellowship. Exhibited in Mint Gallery, Sep-Oct 2020. JORDAN

 

JORDAN is about a curious adventurer and tween girl making a big discovery in a place where fantastical happenings are least expected to everyone but her. A mermaid enthusiast on a fishing trip with her father, the pair find a distressed mermaid and take her back to Atlanta to care for her only to discover she is not exactly what she seems.

A proof of concept for an episodic series, JORDAN won the The 2022 Level Forward Impact award at SeriesFest. This award is given to the episodic pilot and team who demonstrate, on top of their commitment to creative excellence, a thoughtful, thorough, and deliberate approach to using storytelling as a means of leveling the playing field for Women, Black, Indigenous, Latin, Asian, Disabled, LGBTQIA+, geographically, socioeconomically, or otherwise diverse voices who have been historically overlooked, ignored, or exploited. The “Jordan Team” is currently working with Level Forward to develop the series, pitch, and work together towards setting it up with a distributor.
